With just 7 weeks until The Great Escape kicks off festival season another 150 artists have been added to the already kaleidoscopic line up making it one of the most exciting festivals on offer this summer with over 450 artists performing in 30+ venues across the City. These are set to join the already confirmed list of acts that include Rag’n’Bone Man, Slaves, The Magic Gang, Stefflon Don and Marika Hackman.

Having already knocked Kanye West from the top of the iTunes hip-hop chart Rejjie Snow; Irish wordsmith and rapper extraordinaire will be sweeping festival goers up in his flow.

Joining him are music collective The Fedz, made up of some of the most talented producers, musicians and vocalists in the UK and USA. Having individually helped to shape the careers of some of the most influential artists in the world, they’re now coming to create their own fun, smooth, summer reggae fuelled sounds. Also included is rapper, poet and visual artist Kojey Radical who has gained recognition for his fierce and naturally compelling lyricism.

Having already teamed up with production masters Disclosure and been compared to pop sensation Jessie Ware, 18-year-old singer Liv Dawson will hook audiences with her effortlessly soulful voice, dance-licked beats and poetic song writing, while Toronto-based Charlotte Day Wilson produces an enchanting neo-soul, jazz and R&B sound with subdued velvety vocals, sensitive instrumentation and sparse melodies.

Liv Dawson says: “Really excited for The Great Escape this year, it's a festival I've always wanted to play, can't wait to see everyone there!”

If that’s not enough, Jordan Cardy AKA the ridiculously talented Rat Boy fuses elements of hip-hop, punk, retro-pop and indie and promises unbridled anarchy when he brings his debut album and show to the festival whilst Rory Wynne is ready to become Manchester’s next rock star with his swagger and gritty guitar pop.

Charismatic Brighton-based singer songwriter Daniel Wakeford is a champion for the burgeoning learning disabled music scene and brings his unique brand of ecstatic pop to the festival in ‘The Daniel Wakeford Experience’. Another keeping the flag flying high for Brighton is newly label-independent Gabrielle Aplin whose fresh material merges her smooth but powerful trademark sound with underlying tropical vibes, whilst Brighton five-piece Fickle Friends will bring in the summer with indie-tinged pop bangers full of catchy hooks, sparky vocals and heavy synths.

With band members hailing from the Caribbean, Africa, and the UK Afriquoi will be creating a new generation of world music fans move with their dancefloor-friendly fusion of African dance music, UK electro, Congolese guitar and Gambian kora, whilst former music industry consultant, drummer for M.I.A and activist Madame Gandhi is celebrating the female voice with her music; layering percussion, electronic textures with unapologetic political and feminist lyrics.

Norwegian pop-punk quartet Pom Poko are an explosion of intense grooves, bouncy guitar rhythms and absurd riffs, multi-instrumentalist Orla Gartland, one of Ireland’s biggest YouTube stars will deliver folk-pop inspired tunes brimming with personality, HYPERCULTE are a new experimental transpop duo and the Flamingods will have crowds hooked with their vibrant, epic live show full of trippy, exotic, experimental and explorative sounds.

Event Manager Kevin Moore said; With less than 8 weeks to go, we have one of the most diverse and exciting festival line-ups out there. We really can’t wait for everyone to explore the different venues, discover a new favourite artist and be completely wrapped up in the new talent coming from across the world.”
