Bills PR launches playlist plugging service



Music PR agency Bills PR has launched a playlist plugging service. The new service, which initially will face independently curated Spotify playlists, is designed to help artists achieve even greater engagement with audiences, as the music discovery landscape continues to evolve.

The team at Bills PR have already successfully executed playlisting campaigns for a number of existing clients, and are now rolling out to the wider industry. It will be available as a standalone service, or in conjunction with the existing ‘traditional’ online and print campaigns offered by the agency.

Jon Bills said: “Helping people discover new music has always been at the heart of what we do. As this process has evolved, it was immediately apparent to me that Bills PR must adapt to help our clients reach the best possible audience - whether through bloggers, established music critics, or tastemakers. We have forged relationships with key playlist curators and influencers in the same way we do with journalists and bloggers, and I’m extremely excited to be able to offer this service to artists and labels, which allows us to support them in further touch-points of music discovery”

Initially the service will focus on those early influencers and tastemakers who are based online and are already curating their own playlists on Spotify. The team are already developing and building this service to focus on wider Spotify playlists and also across other streaming platforms.

Playlists have quickly become one of the most important aspects of any music release campaign. There are an ever growing number of independently curated lists, maintained by influencers, bloggers, brands, artists and tastemakers. The resulting increases in plays, adds and follows from featuring in these lists, helps feed into the in-house Spotify playlists. This makes independent playlists an incredibly powerful tool for launching new music, which makes it an essential element of the service Bills PR are offering.

Bills PR was launched in 2015 by Jon Bills, who has over 16 years of music publicity experience. The agency, which is based in both London and Berlin, has built a strong reputation for representing music artists across a broad range of genres, in all stages of their careers.
