Since inception 19 years ago, Urban Development has built a reputation as a champion of the UK’s diverse musical talent. The monthly Industry Take Over Seminars and annual Industry Take Over All Dayers have attracted the industry’s brightest leaders to share their knowledge, this has seen the Industry Takeover format become a beacon for budding artists and future industry executives.

Pamela McCormick, Urban Development, Founder and CEO said “It is incredibly exciting to return bigger than with our annual Industry Take Over All Dayer and literally take over Kings Place this month. Urban Development has been at the centre of the conversation regarding British urban grassroots culture for nearly twenty years and we have more than earned our stripes as a key industry player championing, supporting and promoting urban talent, as well as expanding the opportunities for underprivileged BAME youth in this country. We are delighted to partner with and be supported by the industry’s most important organisations and I would like to thank them all for their continued support.  With more events lined up for later in the year, we will continue to provide a pipeline into the industry for our core demographic of young, diverse creators and burgeoning music industry professionals as part of our commitment to create lasting change enabling young, diverse talent to pursue their creative ambitions, fuelling urban arts and cultural industries of the future.”

Drawing from her personal experiences, Mercedes Benson, Complex UK said “Getting that first step into the music industry can be very challenging, especially when coming from backgrounds that aren't privy to creative careers and pathways. What I love about Urban Development is their continuous support for young people, especially for myself coming from a traditional African background. This platform showed me the ins and out of the music industry and gave me mentors and role models to take inspiration from especially with their seminars. I'll always be a fan.”

Casandra Strauss of the BPI’s Member Services team, said “The BPI is delighted to be continuing its support of Urban Development, who do such a great job opening up pathways for people of all backgrounds to develop a career working in music and other creative industries. There’s so much exciting young talent out there that deserves the opportunity to make itself heard, which is why the All Dayer is such a brilliant event and one that we are more than happy to get behind.”

Oliver Morris, Director of Education and SkillsUK Music said "UK Music is delighted to support Urban Development at their Industry Take Over All Dayer. The fantastic work that Urban Development do throughout the year is vital to the continued growth of the urban music scene and offers young people interested in a career in music both the expert advice they need and the opportunities to get involved and meet professionals.  This event is a real highlight in the calendar and an opportunity not to be missed."

Kwame Kwaten, Vice Chair, The Music Managers Forum (MMF) said “Urban Development’s Industry Take Over All Dayer is a must-attend for those starting out or looking to get in to music, covering highly valuable topics and giving unique insights in to the industry. The Music Managers Forum are delighted to be powering the Management Matters panel, exploring the intricacies of music management and meeting all of the attendees - potentially the next generation of power players!"
