We say

It’s very early days for 21-year-old Southend-on-Sea newcomer Taylor James Eary, but this first release from him certainly marks him out as a young guy with bags of potential and an artist worth keeping tabs on. He’s a singer-songwriter who taught himself how to play piano by following instructional guides on YouTube after being given a knackered old keyboard when he was 15. The first tune he learnt properly was Trouble by Coldplay, and he’s since gone on to soak up a whole host of more left-field artists including Tom Waits and Chet Faker to inspire and influence him and his initial compositions. For a year, he studied at BIMM, where alumni includes George Ezra, James Bay and Tom Odell, and is now developing his sound with writer and producer Carey Willetts and musician Ben Christophers. After recently supporting Tom Speight at Camden Assembly, he’ll play his debut headline gig in London at The Islington on May 23. Fresh-faced and eager to impress, we expect you too will be won over by the latent talent on display here.
